Jason Mackie, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Eight Development has been active in the electronic security industry since 1992. Jason started an electronic security integration company at the age of twenty before selling it to a national integrator and moving to Auckland to start an import wholesaling company. This company was partially acquired by Detection Systems in 1999, and then acquired outright by Bosch in 2001. For the next ten years Jason managed the Bosch Security business in New Zealand and served as a Director of Bosch New Zealand during this period. In 2010 Jason arranged a Management Buyout of Bosch Security in New Zealand and rebranded the business as Connect Security Products Ltd (CSP). Jason successfully sold the business to one of Australasia’s largest IT distributors in 2023. In 2013 he co-founded Eight Development to focus on expanding the opportunities it had created in software, hardware, and user interface development.
